The high quality powder coating used on SFS fasteners was developed to keep up with architect's increasingly innovative designs for roofs and façades and to provide increased benefit over the outdated moulded head products that are obtrusive and subject to UV degradation.
The powder specification has been selected for its excellent weathering and colour stability in exposed external applications.
The powder coating process uses finely ground particles of pigment and resin which are sprayed onto the metal fastener head using an electrostatic spray process, causing the charged particles to permanently bond to the metal surface. The powder is then heated and fused into a smooth coating in a curing oven at up to 200°C, melting the powder onto the metal. This eliminates the risk of chipping, damage or fading, allowing SFS intec to provide an unrivalled 12 year colour stability warranty.
